Rye Park Wind Farm, Rye Park, NSW (EPBC 2020/8837)

EPBC Preliminary Documentation

The project has been determined to be a ‘controlled action’ (EPBC 2020/8837) under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act). The controlling provisions under the EPBC Act are ‘listed threatened species and communities’ (Sections 18 and 18A) and ‘migratory species’ (Sections 20 and 20A).

The Commonwealth Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment (DAWE) has advised the project will be assessed by preliminary documentation. This notice is published in accordance with Section 95B(2) of the EPBC Act.

The listed threatened species and communities that the proposed action is likely to impact are as follows:

  • White box -Yellow box - Blakely’s Red Gum Grassy Woodland and Derived Native Grassland
  • Superb Parrot (Polytelis swainsonii)
  • Golden Sun Moth (Synemon plana)
  • Striped Legless Lizard (Delmar impar)
  • White-throated Needletail (Hirundapus caudacutus).

The preliminary documentation describes the impact and proposed mitigation measures for threatened species and communities.

The Project received approval under the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act) (EPBC 2020/8837) in June 2021, and can be downloaded here.
